Beliefs
During this time in medieval europe there was no “earthly” life, the peoples whole life was based around preparing for the afterlife of a person. They spent their whole life preparing for this time because they believed that heaven was a reward for good behavior therefore they looked forward to it forever and valued for than their current life. The medieval people believed strongly in hell and heaven and when they died they would be rewarded or punished for what they had done in the life.
Superstitions
Some of the superstitions had during this period of time were things that we wouldn't even think of today. A lot of these had to do with bad spirits and and a devil because in this time that was believed a lot. Some examples are that people had was when someone sneezed without covering their mouth ment that the devil could enter your body thats why people say bless you when you sneeze. Also if you wanted good luck they would stir anything clockwise. another thing is was leaving the door open was a way to let bad spirits into your house and that was not wanted.
Holidays
Many holidays celebrated in this time are celebrated today like christmas, new year's and easter. a lot of them came from the catholic church. Catholic ceremonies were celebrated by festivals and feasts that celebrated the local saints. They would be held at anytime during the year but especially during the summer.
